Photo Submission Suggestions Before submitting your photos for judging, we have a few recommendations to make judging as easy as possible.  Please follow these recommendations. Can we see the face? The General Contest is based on the child in the photo.  We are looking for clear photos that showcase the child's face.  Full body shots are fine too, but we can't judge the child fully if we can't see his or her face.  Correct Incorrect Too Much Background? Having too much background can take away from the child in the photograph.  While backgrounds can add flare to the picture, don't over do it. Correct Incorrect So you like props... So do we.  However there is a correct way to use props to enhance your photos.  Props that mask the face, don't help you cause.  Props like sunglasses, halloween masks and large hats make for cute photo opps, but not for judging photos.  By all means, use these photos for your home photo albums and scrapbooks...they really are so cute. Correct Incorrect Lets Focus on the Main Subject We love taking pictures of all our friends and family together, but these do not make for good judging photos.  While your child is obvious in your photo, it isn't that easy for judges. Be sure to send pictures of your child alone in the photo (unless the category is a Mommy/Daddy and Me photo). Correct Incorrect Other Tips: Send clear photos.  We can't judge, what we can't see. Red Eyes do not make appealing photos.  Many online picture software can help fix that problem. Pictures taken from far away distance, can't help us see the child's face.  We need to see their face! Size matters.  We prefer pictures larger than a wallet up to size 5x7.  (3x5, 4x6, 5x7 and anything in between) You can send up to 3 pictures of the same child to be judged per contest.  Now send in those photos and Good Luck!
